Bad Ischl This small, picturesque spa town was once the summer residence of Emperor Franz Joseph, who spent around 60 summers there. Melk Abbey Since its foundation in 1089, the Baroque Melk Abbey has been inhabited and managed by Benedictine monks. It is one of the most beautiful and largest Baroque settlements in Europe. Its splendid architecture makes it a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lake Lunzer See This absolute gem of a destination in Lower Austria sits at 608 metres above sea level at the foot of the Dürrenstein mountain in the beautiful Mostviertel.
